Yay for 2011, a year of change! And since I love change, I am really excited!
Where We Ate, is going to be a weekly post about just that...where we ate around our town!
Today... Gemini Bistro. We ate here on our first night in Chicago, and it couldn't have been a better welcome to our new city! The food was delicious, and the atmosphere was cozy and quaint. I was in heaven!
Chris and I both love appetizers better than main dishes! We usually end up ordering a few appetizers and sides, and then share one of the main dishes! We feel like we get to try a good sampling of everything, which is my favorite thing!
{What We Ordered}
Mussels Fra Diavolo: Mussels with the most delectable spicy sauce. I was spooning it into my mouth by the end, and sopping it up with all the bread I could get my hands on. We both decided it was the best mussel dish we've ever tried.
Soup De Jour: Butternut Squash Soup. So creamy and amazing!!
Truffle-Parm Fries: Crispy with a punch of flavor. We didn't even get close to finishing them.
Veal Cordon Bleu: Cordon Bleu with a twist: veal, proscuitto, and mozzarella. With mashed potatoes and crispy butternut squash strips on top. Heaven on a plate.

Oh yumm... everything looks so goood!!! I have heard so many good things about Chicago!! I love that you guys get to move all over the place and experience new things... I want to do that too...only in Italy! :)

yes. i love food posts! can't wait to see where you guys go. one of my best friends lives right out of chicago, so i'm hoping to visit soon, and will have to check out some of these places you go.
I want to come visit so we can go out to eat together.. I LOVE GOING OUT TO EAT. so much. this place looks awesome, truffle fries are a personal favorite and those have my mouth watering a little..

Oh one of our all-time favorite restaurants is in Lincoln Park. You're definitely in a food neighborhood.

ah, i've passed that place a million times and always meant to go. may i recommend renaldi's on broadway near diversy/clark? best pizza in town.

I LOVE Chicago! Last time I was there, I ate my weight in brunch. I'll be visiting again in March, and I'm definitely going to bookmark this place. Yumm
