First off... thank you, thank you, thank you for your kind words. It makes it so much more real when you finally announce it. We felt the serious love on all social networks...and it made us that much more excited to bring this sweet baby into the world!!
And now that the secret is out, I would like to document my pregnancy so I don't forget. I will apologize in advance that now all I am ever going to talk about is being pregnant and the baby, but that is all I think about so I just can't seem to write about anything else!!
:: I am now just about 15 weeks along, yet I feel like I've been pregnant forever, yet I can't believe I will have a real live human in a short 6 months...aaaahhhhhhh::
:: There is already a mini mansion for our little nugget. I started showing pretty quick, but if we are being real here, I looked pregnant before I was even pregnant (thank you ultra swayed back) so it was inevitable for me to show so quickly, but you know...only the best for baby! That being said...I think it is the coolest thing ever. Chris and I can't get over my baby bump and can't get over that there is a tiny human in there. ::
:: Chris is so sweet and always says "Besides your little baby bump you don't even look pregnant." And my response is always, "Well, I feel pregnant...believe you me!" The first trimester (and still right now) rocked my world and then some. I didn't think it would be this hard and didn't think that morning sickness would be a 24hr sickness, but it is weird...I've never been so okay with always wanting to die...haha I guess this baby has already stolen my heart. ::
:: My cravings: At the very beginning it was fruit, especially those cuties/oranges. I still like fruit a lot, but don't crave it like I used to. Then it moved to veggies and salads and veggies sandwiches. I couldn't get enough salad in my life. Now it is my childhood favorites (pictured above): grilled cheese with tomato soup, bean and cheese burritos, chips and salsa, and cheese bagel sandwiches. But I technically wouldn't call them cravings, as I really wish I didn't have to eat at all, these are just the things I can bare to choke down. ::
:: Things I can't eat, can't look at, can't think of, and Chris isn't even allowed to mention: Meat. Sick nasty meat. Over the first trimester I evolved into a full blown vegetarian, which is so not like me. I especially can't stand red meat. My sister mentioned that she was making french dip sandwiches last night and I had to get off the phone with her...even typing this hurts. Oh, and I don't care for sweets, they don't appeal to me at all anymore. ::
:: The first "symptom" I got, that I swear came the second I got pregnant, was my sense of smell which has intensified by like 1,000. Holy Moly...everything smells so much stronger and most smells get me. I literally can't step into our kitchen, no matter how clean it is, without dry heaving. Chris has to pack and prepare all of my meals. It also doesn't help that the lady on the 1st floor is a legit hoarder...no for reals they called the cops once cause they thought she was dead it smelled so bad..so sometimes walking up to our place is a real treat for me. My scarf has become my new stink blocker for my building and downtown Chicago, which also has lots of funky smells. ::

So exciting! Congrats! I'm excited to hear all the preggie stories! Where's the bump pics?!?! :)
So excited for you guys! I also had an amplified sense of smell but only for gross things (?) and was sick all day and all night. Hope you start feeling a little bit better soon. :)
the obsession with baby related things only gets stronger when the baby actually gets here and you can't function in a non baby framed world anymore.
i remember the bean & cheese burrito phase. i hope the sick doesn't last too much longer!
I'm so happy for you guys! That is awesome and such a blessing. May the rest of your pregnancy be sweeter smelling and craving free :) Congratulations on your little one!
xoxo,
Nikki
Naomi Wolf talks about the meat issue in Misconceptions: Truth, Lies, and the Unexpected on the Journey to Motherhood. Apparently this is linked back to our ancestors, when there were no fridges and meat wasn't really safe to eat, esp during pregnancy. From
http://discovermagazine.com/2000/sep/featbiology:
"Many women avoid these foods early in pregnancy when fetal organs are forming, Flaxman and Sherman found. And the evolutionary reason seems clear: Meat was once the food most likely to carry parasites and pathogens that could harm a fetus, as well as put a mother at risk."
That is so exciting! You will appreciate documenting all of these things later.
So happy to be able to read about the pregnancy and all the things happening. It makes living so far away from you easier because I get to share a bit more in this experience. And will always love Chris for taking such good care of you!
please post the story about how you found out and how you announced it to Chris and your family!!

I look forward to following along. I bet you're so cute pregnant!
congrats, wish you and your hubby the best!
Couldn't eat meat, either, in the first trimester. Smell was ALWAYS the first clue that I was pregnant, too. So happy you are blogging this so we can feel like we're "in on it"!!! Love you all and think about you ALL the time. It's so exciting...

I really love how you tell all of this: this is so sweet and cute.
I hope that your sense of smell will get better though! =)
Baby bump pics!!!! Yeah being pregnant sucks! I could smell better as well. Minestrone soup made me want to barf! Hope you're feeling better now!
Congratulations to both of you! I got goosebumps when I read your news- you are going to be the sweetest little mama!!
Isn't the sense of smell thing wild? When I was pregnant with my second daughter I thought I could smell the metal in ALL of my jewelry, so I stopped wearing everything, even my wedding ring. You should invest in those cheap little painter's masks for when you have to enter and exit your building :)
nice blog!!so interesting!!
stacey, a big CONGRATS.
I'm so excited that you are going to document your pregnancy! I'm sorry you have been so sick :( I can't believe how healthy you are eating! When I'm pregnant all I want is junk and want nothing to do with the good stuff! All those fruits and veggies will be so good for you and that cute baby! So excited to continue to follow your oregnancy! I hope you start feeling better soon!
I would never have thought that it would affect your smell--but hey i have never been pregnant so what would I know.
Hope you atart to feel better soon!
